What is Nickel Alloy?

 

The alloys are basically two metals that are combined to form a single metal. Nickel is one of the most common alloys because it is resistant to corrosion by seawater, chlorides, and sulfur dioxide. The major drawback of nickel alloys is that they are relatively expensive when compared to other types of metal.

 

Nickel alloys have features like corrosion resistance, high strength, and special magnetic and thermal expansion properties. Nickel alloys are used in many applications where they are subjected to harsh environments at high temperatures. Nickel 200, Nickel 201 offers excellent corrosion resistance to reducing environments, along with reasonable thermal transfer characteristics.

 

Nickel alloys are used for jet engines and gas turbine blades as they are heat-resistant alloys. Nickel 200 (N02200) or its low-carbon version Nickel 201 (N02201), is used as a corrosion-resistant material in food processing and in high-temperature caustic and gaseous chlorine or chloride environments.
